"I couldn't be happier with how the photo shoot went and was impressed with Ali, and her attitude towards the furkids, even though they weren't on their best behaviour. It was great that she wasnt worried about getting muddy or covered in slobber. I look forward to displaying her photos and will recommend to others to use her service."-Rach
Why it all began
Photography has always been a love of mine, I remember getting my first very own camera when I was 8 years old. Oh the days of giant SD cards and where 8mp was great quality.
Skip a few years and then I had a 14mp digital point and shoot camera that I would ALWAYS take to high school with me and take photos of my group of friends. Many cameras later I finally upgraded to a DSLR in 2016. You're probably thinking... where do pets tie into this? Well...
Pets too have ALWAYS been a passion of mine. From the moment I could walk I was always seen playing with my pets outside. I grew up with a German Shepherd and birds. Everyone in my street knew me and knew that ever since I could walk I wanted to be a vet/vet nurse. In 2012 I completed my Certificate 3 in Animal Studies, I volunteered at the RSPCA and I did work experience at a vet clinic. I also had to say goodbye to my 14 year old German shepherd in 2012. That will forever be the hardest things I have had to do in life. She was my heart dog. For those of you confused as to what a heart dog is I suggest googling it as it is to hard to explain in a short little paragraph.
I gradated high school in 2013 where I then started pursuing my vet nursing career. I completed all my prac and it was just theory left to complete by the end of 2015. In 2014 I got a lovely little white and grey companion cockatiel called Snowflake.
Unfortunately in December 2015 just before Christmas, Snowflake fell critically ill. She had ingested 27 lead pellets, 1 being enough to kill a bird the size of a cockatoo which is 10 times bigger than her. She was such a fighter, she spent 2 weeks in the vet clinic fighting for her life. She had managed to pass all the pellets when the vet allowed her to come home with me. They trained me how to crop feed her which involved me forcing a large needle twice daily into her crop. This was to get her to eat more than she was to gain all the weight she had lost. Unfortunately on our very last crop feed one Sunday morning I put the needle in wrong and Snowflake aspirated meaning the food went into her lungs, 3 hours later I had the emergency vet put her to rest.
After losing both my German Shepherd and cockatiel, all I ever wanted was to print nice photos of them and display them to remember them forever. Unfortunately when it came to it and I went through my phone full of what I thought were amazing quality photos, every time I went to print them the prints were grainy and did not turn out well at all.
So, I made the decision in 2016 to start my own affordable pet photography business for pet parents so people wouldn't have to worry about trying to print poor quality phone photos and could have nice, professional photos to display in their homes.
